You Are Loved. // Beauty for Ashes, Part 2
Today we’re continuing on our journey though Isaiah 61….
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted…”
God has called us His daughters and has placed His Spirit upon us. He has anointed us with His love.
You are loved.
You need to know, understand, and comprehend that there is absolutely nothing you or I can do to earn HIS love. There’s nothing we can do to change His love and nothing we can do to get rid of His love. God sees us and calls us His precious daughters.
Isaiah 61 reminds us that He has come to take our broken hearts – the place where we are crushed, lonely, and feel isolated – and He will bring us comfort.
I will never forget my first heartbreak. The boy I liked was Gerry Munch. (I could have been Mrs. Munch!) But the problem was that Gerry liked Jill Thom and my little 2nd grade heart was crushed. I thought about ways that I could take out the competition I wanted to do whatever I could to not make my heart hurt and I eventually got over it when Steve Sullivan started liking me the next day.
Heartbreak is the brokenness of our hearts. It’s the brokenness of our hopes crushed. With heartbreak comes loneliness and sometimes isolation. With heartbreak comes questions and wondering if we will be loved again. With heartbreak comes a feeling of being misunderstood.
Heartbreak doesn’t just happen within the context of romance – it can happen in friendships. It can happen with hoping desperately for a job or an opportunity or to be included and invited – and then you’re not and you feel like an outsider.
Heartbreak hurts. It really hurts. All of us have experienced it at some point – and for some that season might be now in your life.
God wants to bring His comfort to heal your broken heart.
